JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jessica Lambert of the Florida Atlantic University track & field team concluded her historic season in the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships First Round on Thursday evening, running in the 800m.
Â
In a crowded field of 48 runners in the East region, Lambert finished in the top half, 24th place.Â
Â
Her time of 2:06.72 was good for second best in FAU history. The Croydon, England native now owns the top four 800m times in school history.Â
Â
Though she did not qualify for the second round, her time was better than three runners who automatically qualified due to winning their heat.
Â
This also concludes an exciting year for Florida Atlantic as they look towards a bright future with not only a new conference, but facility upgrades as well. The Owls will begin competing in the American Athletic Conference during the cross country season in the fall of 2023.
