BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Florida Atlantic baseball resumes C-USA play this weekend on the road against Western Kentucky. The Owls enter the three-game series sixth in the league at 7-8 but just two games back of third.
Game times for this weekend's series have been adjusted to avoid potential inclement weather.
Schedule update (as of Friday afternoon): Friday's game has been postponed and will be played as part of a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. EST.Â
Â
The Owls earned their fourth ranked victory of the season on Wednesday in thrilling fashion against No. 17 Miami.
Jalen DeBose hit a game-tying solo home run in the bottom of the ninth. After falling behind 6-5 in the 11th inning, the Owls loaded the bases and drew two walks to claim a 7-6 victory.
Â
- Nolan Schanuel hit his team-leading 15th home run of the season on Wednesday. He's reached base in 33 consecutive games.
- Dylan Goldstein has homered in back-to-back games, including a third inning two-run shot on Wednesday.
WKU took two of three from UAB last weekend after a sweep at the hands of Middle Tennessee in the week prior. The Toppers went on the road on Tuesday and fell 10-8 against Evansville in Indiana.
Offensively, Drew Reckert's 26 RBI is a team high. Seven WKU hitters have driven in 20 or more runs. Infielder Tristin Garcia is the reigning C-USA Hitter of the Week.
On the pitching side, the Toppers will go with lefties on Friday and Saturday. Devyn Terbrak will make the game two start after going six innings with one run allowed last Saturday against UAB. Terbrak enters with a 3.22 ERA.
Â
The Owls swept WKU in Boca last season and have won eight of the last 10 meetings overall. Â
Â
The Owls will complete the season series with Miami next Tuesday in Coral Gables. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Â
