FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's swim team sent select athletes to compete in the TYR Pro Swim Series. The three-day meet from Thursday to Saturday marked an opportunity for the 10 swimmers to qualify for their respective national teams.
The meet saw Junior,
Maximiliano Ahumada from Santiago, Chile break a national record in the 100 back with a time of 57.34.
- Nick Shaffer made it to the 400 IM 'B' final, logging a time of 4:29.93
- Taylor Eaton qualified for the 200 back 'C' final, finishing with a time of 2:10.38
- Riley Trout in the 400 IM final tallied a time of 5:15.51
- Ahumada's Chilean national record-breaking time of 57.34 qualified him for the 'B' final
- Lillibridge made his second final of the weekend, the 200 breast, and finished with a time of 2:20.27
The Owl divers are set to compete in the NCAA Zone Diving Championships, where four divers have qualified for 'B' zones. The championships will begin tomorrow and end on Tuesday.
