KNOXVILLE, TENN. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's diving team competed in the opening two days of the NCAA Zone B Championships on Sunday and Monday.
Alicia Mora,
Selina Staudenherz, and
Trinity McNall for the women's team as well as
Brandon Shepherd for the men's team both competed in the 1-meter dive for a chance at qualifying for the 2023 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
For Mora, this became a reality when she qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 1-meter after finishing with a total score of 566.7 across the preliminaries and finals. She finished in ninth place out of the 11 qualifiers.
McNall and Staudenherz tallied scores of 228.05 and 222.4, respectively. On the men's side, Shepherd recorded a score of 235.15.
Mora now officially has a spot in 2023 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, set to take place from March 15-18, also in Knoxville. She will compete tomorrow in the 3-meter in an attempt to qualify in two events.
