BOCA RATON, Fla. – Marching through opponents in the month of March is the plan for Florida Atlantic University's women's team, who will spend their spring break on the courts. The parade of opponents will begin 10 a.m. Friday, March 3 with an undefeated South Alabama. FAU will then host LIU at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 6.
While the Owls enter the weekend with a 3-9 record, it is a record indicative of a team that has traveled to Texas twice, Arizona once, faced freezing temperatures, top-15 ranked teams as well as illness since they were last at home. USA comes to FAU with a perfect 10-0 record. LIU will come to Boca Raton with a record of 5-4.
Better health and playing in front of a hometown crowd promise to power the Owls through this next stretch. Despite the obstacles, sophomore
Millie-Mae Matthews has built an 8-3 record while both
Victoria Gomez O'Hayon and
Martina Kudelova hold records of 4-6 and can use the weekend to return to .500.
NEXT UP
The Owls will continue their nine-match home stand on Thursday, March 9 versus Kennesaw State at 1 p.m. and will then have matches on March 11 versus Colorado State and March 12 against VCU. Both are scheduled for 10 a.m.
