ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University track & field team concluded their opening two-day meet of the outdoor season at the UCF Black & Gold Invitational on Saturday.
The Owls have become a team used to breaking records and that continued on the opening outdoor day, with
Anabell Reumann setting the FAU mark in the 2000m steeplechase.
Friday
- Reumann's time of 6:59.39 in the 2000m steeplechase crushed the previous record by over 33 seconds
- Dahlia Barnes impressed in the long jump with a mark of 5.55, good for ninth in FAU history
- Jordan Stevens set a new personal record in the 1500m (4:45.63)
Saturday
- Jessica Lambert picked up right where she left off from her indoor season, taking the victory in the 800m. Her time of 2:09.68 is good for fourth all time in FAU history
- Cara Simpson placed in 15th out of 44 runners in the 100m (11.99)
- The 4x400 relay team finished with a time of 3:51.06
The Owls will send
Madlen Kappeler to compete in the NC State Raleigh Relays event, while the rest of the Owls will head to the University of Miami for the UM Hurricane Collegiate Invitational.
