BOCA RATON, Fla. – Three of the first road matches of an 11-match road swing were battles with the nation's top-25 teams. Next for the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team is a Friday double header in Deland, Florida and a Sunday afternoon contest in Coral Gables.
The Owls, 3-4, will first face Mercer, a squad featuring individuals that FAU players matched up with in Fall 2022. Mercer is making the trip to Deland for the 10 a.m. neutral match and will carry a 4-2 record into the competition. Following the FAU/Mercer match, FAU will face host Stetson, another team with individuals that the Owls are familiar with. Stetson will enter the 3 p.m. match sporting a 6-1 record.
Senior
Hunter Robbins continues to lead the Owls with a 4-1 singles record while newcomer
Alberto Colas is 3-3 on the season. Robbins and fellow senior
Kevin Huempfner come into the doubles matches with a 9-1 overall record and a 4-1 record in dual matches.
FAU will return home, rest on Saturday and then travel south to face Miami. The Hurricanes are 2-2 but holds the all-time record versus FAU. That match is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday.

The Owls will next travel to Clemson, South Carolina where they will face the Tigers on Friday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. and then Vanderbilt, in Nashville, Tennessee at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 before their final two road match of the 11 match swing, when they head to San Antonio, Texas for a Friday, Feb. 24 match versus C-USA member UTSA and then a neutral site match at UTSA versus Wichita State on Saturday, Feb. 25.
