BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University track & field will welcome transfer Promise Cross to the squad when the team returns for the 2022 fall semester, announced
Alex Smolka, FAU's head men's and women's cross country and women's head track coach.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Promise to FAU," said Smolka. "I think under Gigi's (
Georgette Nixon) guidance, Promise will flourish and make an immediate impact at the conference level for us. She will fit into our culture very well and help us continue to build a winning program."
"We are excited to have Promise join our Owl family," said Nixon. "She will be a great addition to our multi-events squad and will be an immediate impact within our conference. Promise will help continue to build the #WinningInParadise culture."
The Owls are coming off a strong 2022 winter and spring season with several personal bests set at the 2022 Conference USA Championships. Cross set several personal bests herself last season and will work to continue that progression in south Florida.
