BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's track & field team is set to begin the outdoor portion of their 2022 season this weekend. The Owls will have a split squad with the distance runners competing at UCF in the Black & Gold Invitational on Friday and the sprinters and jumpers competing in the Miami Hurricane Invitational on Saturday.Â

- The Owls finished up their indoor season at the C-USA Championships, finishing in 12th place.
- The championship weekend saw many personal bests and entries into FAU's top 10, including a new school record in the distance medley. The team (Casey O'Connor, Eriana Teague, Jordan Stevens, Paige Saiz) finished with a time of 11:59.61.
- In the pentathlon, Kaitlyn Kirby ended with a score of 3,500 the third best score in school history.
- Jessica Lambert finished in fifth place in the 800m final (2:11.04), third all time in school history.Â
- Cara Simpson finished in sixth place in the 200m final (7.58), good for seventh all time in school history.Â

Next weekend, the Owls will head back to Miami with a full squad to compete in the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational on March 26.Â
