BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University track & field team wrapped up their final meet before the Conference USA Indoor Championship at Saturday's BU Scarlet & White Invitational. The Owls built on their momentum from yesterday's meet and dominated in several competitions that included six top 10 finishes, 11 personal records and eight new entries to the top 10 in school history.

"It's not often that I'm lost for words, but what we as a team accomplished this weekend is leaving me a little speechless. I can't recall any other two day span during which we had to update our record books as much. Our team members are dialed in. They are listening to the coaching staff, motivating each other and collectively helping each other achieve new heights! I don't particularly like to single out individuals because I hate to leave someone out. However, I need to mention a few performers and performances who put themselves in our record books today:
Cara [Simpson] had a great weekend! She improved her 60m PR (running the time twice), she smashed her 200m PR, and ran her best ever time for the 4x400 relay leg!
Jess [Lambert] improved her 800m PR by a full second, only 35 minutes after anchoring the 4x400 relay team to the second fastest time in the conference currently.
Paige [Saiz] ran a huge new PR in the 3000m, which is the program's best time in seven years. (outside of Madlen [Kappeler's] times)
Jordan [Stevens] improved her mile time drastically and put herself into the record books.
The entire 4x400 relay team deserves a shout out for their performance today, and they'll only get faster!
Last but certainly not least, Casey [O'Connor] had the race of her young career thus far! She is the first FAU runner in seven years to break five minutes in the mile, and has come a long, long way with a super bright future ahead!
Overall, I really want to stress the team, and how we are all coming together and working towards a common goal!"
