BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's track & field team is back on the road after a weekend off to compete in the 2022 Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The meet will take place in Birmingham on Saturday and Sunday. The Owls will look to build on their record setting weekend from their last meets in Massachusetts.

Last Time Out

The Owls had an incredibly strong showing in both of their meets in Massachusetts. They placed fourth out of 11 teams at the Harvard Crimson Elite and set eleven personal records with eight top 10 finishes in school history at the Scarlet & White Invitational at Boston University.
Cara Simpson had great performances in both meets. She finished fifth in the 200m finals at Harvard with a time of 7.55. This ranks fourth in school history. She also finished fourth in the 200m run at the Scarlet & White Invitational (24.40), good for fourth all time in school history.
Jessica Lambert at the Scarlet & White Invitational finished with the second-best time in school history in the 800m run. (2:10.97)
Casey O'Connor in the mile run at the Scarlet & White Invitational had a time of 4:57.85, both a personal record and ninth all time in school history.
Three Owls finished in the top three of the mile run at Harvard. Casey O'Connor finished in first place (5:13.52), Paige Saiz finished in second (5:13.73), and Jordan Stevens placed in third (5:14.89).
Saiz in the 3000m at the Scarlet & White Invitational finished with a time of 10:05.01. This is both a personal record and good for sixth all time in school history.
Madlen Kappeler had strong performances at the Scarlet & White Invitational in both the 5000m (17:41.38) and 3000m (10:12.59). This placed seventh and 10th in school history, respectively.
The 4x400m relay team (Simpson, Beyonce Green, Eriana Teague, Lambert) at the Scarlet & White Invitational placed in fourth with a season best time (3:49.52). This is good for seventh all time in school history.

Kaitlyn Kirby – 19th in 60 Hurdles (9.03)
