CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's track & field team wrapped up the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, hosted by Miami on Saturday afternoon, with two first place finishes.
The Owls competed in a total of seven events (1500-meter, 400-meter, 100-meter, 800-meter, 400-meter hurdles, 200-meter, and 4x400-meter relay) on the day.
QUICK HITS
- Florida Atlantic started the afternoon with the 1500-meter with junior Jessica Hatch running 4:27.78, earning the event victory. The time was the second fastest of her career and currently the fastest time in the American.
- Teegan Anderson took second place in the 1500m, finishing in a time 4:30.08, a season-best, while also moving her to third all-time in the top-10 record book.
- Madison Brown took sixth place, running 4:45.42, a new personal best for the sophomore.
- In the 400-meter dash, Jada Bolhuis finished in fifth place, running 56.33, the fastest time of her FAU career.
- Richelle Williams ran the fastest 100-meter dash of her collegiate career, coming in with a time of 12.18.
- Both Anderson and Hatch also ran the 800-meter, finishing in third and fourth place respectively.
- The 200-meter saw another FAU personal best by Williams, running 25.12 which was good for a top ten placing.
- The Owls closed the day in the 4x400 relay with Bolhuis, Adriana Lopez, Rosa ten Berg, Adrianna Mier taking first place, running 3:49.96, a new season's best.
UPCOMING
The Owls will return to the track next weekend, traveling to Atlanta, Georgia for the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday, April 17th, and Saturday, April 18th.
