BOCA RATON, Fla. – It has been nearly two weeks since the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team has played a match, but the Owls are set to put their 4-0 record on the line when the team travels to Tampa, Florida for a 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 match versus cross-state rival USF (2-1).
USF holds the 11-2 all-time mark versus the Owls. The two teams last met on April 9, 2021, with the Bulls taking the 4-1 win. Both matches won by FAU have been at the FAU friendly confines of the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center.
Germans
Kevin Huempfner and
Finn Stodder are expected to lead the Owls, when the duo puts their unblemished 4-0 records on the line versus USF. Neither player has surrendered a set in 2022.
Spaniards
Gerard Escandell and
Alvaro Fernandez Horta will help to shore up the attack, each entering the match with a 3-1 dual match record.
