BOCA RATON, Fla. – Week 12 of the NFL season is in the books and six former Florida Atlantic University football players saw action. Here's a rundown of how each performed during the 12th week of the 2022 NFL season (All gametimes listed below are Eastern):
Active Owls (6) #51 Azeez Al-Shaair | LB | San Francisco 49ers
- Al-Shaair recorded his second start of the season in the 13-0 victory against the New Orleans Saints. He was in on 47% of the team's defensive snaps and made four tackles. 49ers' Record: 7-4 Next Game: vs. Miami – Sunday, 4:05 p.m. (FOX)
#88 Harrison Bryant | TE | Cleveland Browns
- Bryant is back to his spot as the team's number two tight end, but is still seeing plenty of time on the field. He played 21 offensive snaps for the team and contributed six additional plays on special teams. Bryant caught both of his targets for nine yards as the Browns kept their season alive in a 23-17 overtime win. Browns' Record: 4-7 Next Game: at Houston – Sunday, 1 p.m. (CBS)
#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
- Hendrickson saw the field for 72% of Cincinnati's defensive snaps. The Bengals took down the Tennessee Titans by a score of 20-16, a win that gives the team ground in the AFC North divisional race. Hendrickson logged one tackle and one QB hit. He is now up to 28 straight games (including last year's postseason) with at least one QB hit. Bengals' Record: 7-4 Next Game: vs. Kansas City – Sunday, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)
#1 Greg Joseph | K | Minnesota Vikings
- Joseph was one of two Owls to see the field on Thanksgiving. The Vikings had the night matchup, facing off against the New England Patriots. With Minnesota's offense returning to form after only three points last week, it was a busier evening for Joseph. He knocked in three extra points and a pair of 30 plus yard field goals. The second one was most important, a 36-yarder to tie up the game early in the fourth quarter. The Vikings held on to win 33-26. Vikings' Record: 9-2 Next Game: vs. New York Jets – Sunday 1 p.m. (CBS)
#42 James Pierre | CB | Pittsburgh Steelers
- It was a night to remember for Pierre. Returning to the defensive back rotation, he was in on 47% of the team's defensive snaps in the Monday night matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. He also remained in his special teams ace role, participating in 50% of the snaps. His biggest play of the night came early in the first quarter, as Pierre made a diving interception in between two Colts receivers. Thanks to big plays like Pierre's, the Steelers held on to win the game 24-17. Steelers' Record: 4-7 Next Game: at Atlanta – Sunday, 1 p.m. (CBS)
#26 Devin Singletary | RB | Buffalo Bills
- As another former FAU player playing in front of a national audience on Thanksgiving, "Motor" did not disappoint. With many solid runs throughout the day, he ended up with 72 yards on 14 carries, good for 5.1 yards per carry. This was Singletary's highest YPC of the season in games where he touches the ball at least 10 times. Five of his rushes went for a first down, tied with Josh Allen to lead the team. The Bills ultimately won their tightly contested battle against the Detroit Lions with a final score of 28-25. Bills' Record: 8-3 Next Game: vs. Jacksonville – Thursday, 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video)
Did Not Play (1) #73 Brandon Walton | OT | Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Walton was active but did not see playing time in the 23-17 overtime defeat to the Cleveland Browns. Buccaneers' Record: 5-6 Next Game: vs. New Orleans – Monday, 8:15 p.m. (ESPN)
Practice Squad (5) #98 Brandin Bryant | DT | Houston Texans #92 Trevon Coley | DE | Chicago Bears #38 Zyon Gilbert | CB | New York Giants #29 Herb Miller | CB | Cleveland Browns #80 Zaire Mitchell-Paden | TE | Cleveland Browns
