BOCA RATON, Fla. – It has been a good week for the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball program. The Owls began the week with one of the biggest wins in program history, knocking off Florida for the first time. FAU followed that with an 11-point win over last year's America East Champion and NCAA Tournament qualifier Bryant on Thursday night. The Owls are looking to cap off the week at 3-0 against Detroit Mercy on Saturday night as the Paradise Invitational continues.

Last time out, FAU defeated last year's America East Champion and NCAA Tournament qualifier Bryant by an 85-74 tally. The Owls pulled away from the Bulldogs after holding a 72-70 lead with only 3:43 to play, yet FAU ended strong with a 13-4 stretch. A pair of free throws each from
Vladislav Goldin and
Michael Forrest bumped it to 76-70, then after a Bryant bucket,
Alijah Martin hit the dagger 3-pointer to put FAU up by seven with 1:35 remaining.

The Owl defense limited a talented Bryant offense to only 36.4% shooting from the field and 27.3% shooting from 3-point range in the second half. Entering Thursday night's game, Bryant led the nation in scoring with an average of 118.0 points per game. FAU's 85 points are a season-high for the Owls.

- FAU is looking to continue the home court advantage it has built. Over the last three years, the Owls are 37-9 (.804) in Paradise
- The Owls' bench has been dominant this season with a 125-62 scoring edge over the opposing bench. Against Bryant, Forrest added 14 points off the bench, while Jalen Gaffney added nine points, five boards and four assists
- FAU is averaging 10 made 3-pointers per game this year, which ranks second in Conference USA and 44th in NCAA Division I. FAU is additionally shooting the 3-pointer at a 38.1% clip, which ranks second in the conference
- Forrest is climbing up the school leader board in career points. Forrest currently stands at 1,348 points, which is good for sixth all-time in school history. The senior guard is 41 points away from cracking FAU's top five, as Jeff Cowans is currently in fifth with 1,388 points. Forrest is also third all-time in school history in 3-pointers with 256 trifectas
- Martin has recorded three consecutive double-digit scoring games for FAU. He led the Owls with 15 points and nine boards in the win over the Bulldogs

FAU will return to action after Thanksgiving to face Albany on the road on Nov. 26. Tip-off in Albany is slated for 1 p.m.
