BOCA RATON, Fla. – The FAU men's basketball team saw its opening weekend of Conference USA action impacted by Covid-19 protocols, so the Owls will open league play Saturday at Marshall.Â
It's the first of a three-game road swing for FAU, as the Owls are set to face off with Middle Tennessee State and UAB on the road next week.
While this will be the first conference game for FAU, Marshall opened league play at Louisiana Tech on Dec. 30, dropping a 79-56 decision.
Saturday's matchup will be the first trip to Huntington, W. Va. for the Owls since the 2019-20 season. FAU's last foray into the Cam Henderson Center was a 94-82 loss to the Thundering Herd. The Owls haven't won in Huntington since February 1, 2014.
FAU saw three players average double-digit scoring through the non-conference portion of the season.
Michael Forrest leads the way for the Owls, averaging 14.3 points per game. He also leads the team with 35 3-pointers on the season.
Alijah Martin averaged 4.2 points per game for the Owls in his first year with the program, but is now the team's second-leading scorer with 12.8 per contest. The guard is also second on the team in rebounding at 52 per contest.
Bryan Greenlee averages 10.6 points per game and leads the team with 48 assists. Russia native and Texas Tech transfer Vlad Goldin leads FAU on the boards at 5.6 rebounds per game.
