MIAMI, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team and FIU played to a 1-1 draw, Sunday night at FIU Soccer Stadium.
Â
The Beginning
The Panthers (1-8-1, 0-1-1 Conference USA) scored first, in the 14th minute, when a ball was cleared out, but unfortunately, right to the foot of an FIU attacker.
Â
The Turning Point:
FAU (3-4-3, 1-0-1 C-USA) made it 1-1 just over 18 minutes left, with
Mia Sennes earning the tying goal.
Â
The Finish:
For the second straight match – and fifth time this season – the Owls' contest moved into extra time. FAU held possession for most of the first overtime and took all four shots in the period, but didn't score. The same held true in the second, though shots were tied 3-3 in that frame.
