CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Florida Atlantic University women's soccer and Charlotte played to a 1-1, double-overtime draw Sunday afternoon at Transamerica Field. That now means that all three of the Owls' Conference USA matches have needed extra time, as has six of their 11 total games this year.
 The Beginning:
Charlotte (5-4-1, 1-1-1 C-USA) took advantage of a saved shot and rebound in the 25th minute to take the lead in the first half.
 The Turning Point:
FAU (3-4-4, 1-0-2 C-USA) came up with the tying goal with just 11 minutes left, on a counter attack. Erin McRae played it down the sideline to Thelma Hermannsdottir, whose pass into the box found the foot of an open Miracle Porter for the score.
 The Finish:
In regulation, with under 5:00 to go – and in the span of about 40 seconds – the 49ers put three shots on goal, with all three saved by the Owls' defense. FAU had the only shot in the first extra period; Bri Austin's rocket with just over three minutes left in the second OT was pushed over the crossbar by the 49ers' goalkeeper (and was the only attempt for either side in the final frame).
 Notables:
The Owls gained the point despite being outshot 15-6, and having just three shots on goal
Cohen, Amanda Martin and Jodi Smith played the entirety. In fact, that trio has logged every single second on the pitch (1,092:09) for the full fall season thus far
Porter and Krstec each attempted two shots, with Austin and Grissom combining to take the other two
Quotable:
"First half, we were up against it for sure," said head coach Patrick Baker. "Charlotte came out, home game, getting some players back, and deserved the first goal … We really created maybe two or three moments in the second half, just really fortunate we got in on a great ball. Thelma (Hermannsdottir had) a great run, provided a really quality service and Merc (Miracle Porter) just shows why she's a special player and banged it into the back of the net."
