TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Florida State University Cross Country Open this morning at Apalachee Regional Park. The women's team finished in 22nd place, while the men totaled 24th place.
Women (6K)
- FAU finished in 22nd place with 602 points against a competitive field, including schools such as BYU, Florida State, Clemson and Stanford
- In her first race back from injury, Madlen Kappeler recorded 96th place with a time of 23:26.8
- Casey O'Connor followed in 155th place with a time of 24:28.7 in her first collegiate 6K race
- In 157th place, Jordan Stevens captured 157th place (24:28.9)
- Morgan Sharp (24:33.1) and Alexis Hill (24:38.2) finished in 163rd and 167th, respectively
Men (8K)
The women's team will compete in the UCF Invitational next on Friday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. The men will take almost a month off with their next race being back in Tallahassee for the FSU Pre-Nationals on Friday, Oct. 15.
