ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's cross country placed fourth in Friday night's UCF Invitational, with five runners finishing in the top 30, totaling 110 points as a team.

- Madlen Kappeler was the first across for the women, placing 13th in the field of 92 with a time of 17:30 (the length of the course was a bit short of 5K at 2.9 miles)
- Just four spots and nine seconds later was Jordan Stevens, 17th in 17:39
- Morgan Sharp was third on the squad and 26th overall (17:49), coming in just ahead of teammate Casey O'Connor (27th in 17:50)
- Erin Shannon was 30th, running an 18:03
- The host Knights took the team title. Florida placed second, Jacksonville third, and FAU a point better than Stetson (110 to 111) to claim fourthÂ
The FSU Pre-Nationals meet is next for the women, with the FAU men returning to the course as well. The Tallahassee event is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15.
