BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team starts Conference USA play this Thursday night at home, hosting North Texas for a 7 p.m. kickoff at FAU Soccer Stadium.
Owls' Sunday in Review
FAU (2-4-2) fell prey to the day's only goal of the day, in the second half, in a 1-0 loss to FGCU. That concluded the first portion of the Owls' season, the team's eight non-conference matches.
Owls' Thursday in Preview
After their only loss so far this season, North Texas (5-1-2) tied Oklahoma, then last weekend, posted back-to-back shutouts against Stephen F. Austin and Abilene Christian. The Mean Green received 11 votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll. They were voted second in the C-USA West by the coaches in the preseason, with Allie Byrd and Brooke Lampe on the Preseason Team. Sarah Fuller is the reigning C-USA Goalkeeper of the Week, and Byrd the Offensive POW.
Opponent History
UNT holds the all-time series advantage with nine wins in 12 matchups. The squads last met twice in 2019, a 1-0 Owls' regular season win, but a Mean Green victory in the C-USA Tournament finals.
