BOCA RATON, Fla. – Two things happened over the weekend for the Florida Atlantic University football team. The first was change. Due to an expected storm and not wanting to miss an opportunity,
the Owls' practice was changed from Saturday to Sunday. Second, the squad moved Sunday's practice to the Tom Oxley Center Fields, fields they moved away from in 2020 when the Schmidt Family Center Fields opened. The day was a throwback for some and a new facility for others.

What's Next
FAU will have media availability on Monday as scheduled. Coach Taggart will address the media in the afternoon, at 1:40, and requested wide receivers, cornerbacks and their respective position
coaches also will be available upon request. Practice will be open to the media from approximately 2:40-3 p.m. We ask that all members to help us keep our team safe by wearing a mask to both the interview session and during the on-field observation period. Please RSVP and provide your player requests to Katrina at kmccormi@fau.edu prior to Monday.
The Owls open up the 2021 campaign on the road on Saturday, Sept. 4, in Gainesville against Florida. The home opener is the following Saturday, at 3:30 p.m., hosting Georgia Southern. For more information on season tickets, call 1-866-FAU-OWLS or visit HERE.
Also scheduled for opening weekend at FAU Stadium is the Coach Howard Schnellenberger Celebration of Life, to be held the night before the game against GSU, Friday, Sept. 10, with the public event starting at 7:30 p.m.

- During 7-on-7, each of the quarterbacks found receivers for 1st-down-and-beyond gains. Michael Johnson, Jr. hit Damian Alloway and BJ Alexander, Willie Taggart, Jr. found Johnny Ford, Nick Tronti threw a perfect pass over the middle to Je'Quan Burton in stride, and N'Kosi Perry hit Zaire Mitchell-Paden 15 yards down the sideline
- During team situational drills, Perry connected with Willie Wright upfield to cheers and celebrations, and Johnson, Jr. was forced from the pocket but still was able to throw across his body to connect with a sliding LaJohntay Lester
- In the final session, Teja Young recorded a diving interception, with no return, to charge up the defensive sideline
Speed Zone
- Three players were clocked at speeds higher than 20 MPH, all defensive backs with Zyon Gilbert sounding the siren twice, as did Young and Justin McKithen
