Owls' Weekend in Review
The Owls (15-13, 4-4 C-USA) swept their C-USA opening weekend, over Marshall, but saw Charlotte do that very same thing to them. Though, the last three games of four against the 49ers were just one-run defeats. In the series, B.J. Murray homered in every game, is batting .500 (10-for-20) over his last five games, and .516 (16-for-31) over his last nine. In that full timeframe, he has four home runs and 15 RBI, just outdistancing Nolan Schanuel's three and 14, respectively. Schanuel is hitting .407 in that span (11-for-27).
Â
Owls' Weekend in Preview
Like the Owls, ODU (21-5, 7-1 C-USA) dispatched of Marshall in four straight, last weekend in Huntington, marking seven wins in a row – and 14 out of the last 16 – for the Monarchs. For their performances against the Thundering Herd, Carter Trice and Hunter Gregory were named C-USA Hitter and Pitcher of the Week. Trice is batting .400 now, with nine home runs and 32 RBI (all team-leading except for RBI, as Andy Garriola has 40), while Gregory is 3-0 with a 1.82 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings.
