LOS ANGELES – Led by Florida Atlantic baseball alum Pat Murphy ('82), the Milwaukee Brewers are headed back to the World Series for the first time in 44 seasons. The Brewers completed a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS on Thursday night.
Murphy is the two-time National League Manager of the Year after guiding Milwaukee to 103 wins and a third consecutive NL Central Division title. The Brewers will face either the Cleveland Guardians or Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series, which begins Friday, Oct. 23. Milwaukee will have home-field advantage for games one and two.
Murphy was a key piece in the first two seasons of Florida Atlantic Baseball in 1981 and '82. He was inducted into the FAU Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
