TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team tangled to the final point against Florida State on Friday afternoon at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center, but the Seminoles came away with the slim 4-3 win.

- FAU (6-8) fell behind after the doubles point to the homestanding Seminoles (7-12)
- FSU took the first singles point as well, but Kevin Huempfner trimmed the deficit to 2-1 with a Court No. 2 win, 6-2, 6-3
- It again became a one-point affair with an FSU win on No. 3, and Alvaro Fernandez Horta's twin 6-4, 6-4 victory on No. 4
- The No. 5 and No. 6 spots both went out to three sets
- Gerard Escandell made for the first tie of the match, at 3-3, prevailing, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2
- FSU came away with the deciding point on the final court
