Adams and Cangelosi Claim Owls' Lone Victory

BATON ROUGE, La. – On Day One of the Tiger Beach Challenge, the 11^th-ranked Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team fought hard but dropped both its games.

No. 1 LSU and No. 19 Georgia State defeated FAU (3-3) 5-0 and 4-1, respectively on Saturday. The pair of Kenley Adams and Jillienne Cangelosi earned FAU's lone victory of the day, defeating Georgia State's court-three pair by a score of 16-21, 21-18, 15-12.

Match One vs. No. 1 LSU
LSU came into this matchup undefeated and ranked No. 1, and it continued that dominance against FAU. The Owls mustered a third set in only two of their six matchups, those being the court-two pair of Ellie Austin and Savannah Pesante and the extra pair of Alivia Orvieto and Logan Mignerey. FAU's court-one, court-three, court-four and court-five pairs all fell in two sets.

The Owls had only one win against the Panthers, a 16-21, 21-18, 15-12 victory courtesy of Adams and Cangelosi on court three. Lily Richman and Maylin Bouffard played a close match on court five but couldn't claim a tight third-set victory, losing 14-21, 22-20, 15-12. Georgia State earned sweeps over FAU's court-one, court-two, court-four and extra pairs.
