BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 11th-ranked Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team will play the AVCA's top two teams as part of this weekend's Tiger Beach Challenge, a two-day tournament LSU is hosting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
On Saturday, FAU (3-1) will play No. 1 LSU at 11:30 a.m. and No. 19 Georgia State at 4:30 p.m. The Owls are scheduled to play Houston Baptist at 10:30 a.m. and No. 2 FSU at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. All times are CST.Â
Cox Sports Television will broadcast some of the Tiger Beach Challenge, including the Owls' matchup against LSU.
In last weekend's season-opening tournament, the Stetson Spring Fling, the Owls went 3-1 with wins over No. 14 South Carolina, No. 11 Stetson and No. 13 FIU. The FIU win was FAU's first in their 12 matchups. The pairs of Lily Richman and Maylin Bouffard plus Erica Brok and Mackenzie Morris went 3-1.
"We get another chance against some more strong programs and we can't wait!" FAU coach Capri Grotowski said. "We had a great first weekend, we were able to learn quite a bit, and the FAU Sandy Owls are going to take it forward. The love and respect this group of Sandy Owls has for each other is really something special. Go Owls."
