BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's track & field team is set to compete on the first day of the Vertklasse Meeting hosted by High Point University on Thursday. Student-athletes from the distance group will compete in the 1500 meters, 5000 meters and 10000 meters. The meet marks the first out-of-state meet for the Owls this outdoor season after opening up the first two weeks in Miami.

- The sprint and jump group competed in the second part of the Hurricane Invitational hosted at the University of Miami last Saturday
- Cara Simpson won the 200 meters (24.35), while claiming second in the 100 meters with a personal record time of 11.92
- Ameion Hamlet won the long jump with 5.71 meters marking a personal record and the fourth best finish in school history. She also claimed second in the triple jump (11.44 meters)
- Jessica Lambert won the 400 meter hurdles (1:03.93)
- The Owls were up against competitors from Miami, FIU, Little Rock and St. Thomas

FAU will be back in familiar territory Miami next weekend. On Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10, the Owls will compete in the Miami Alumni Invitational. The meet will take place at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables, Florida.
