First Home Event Since 2019 Begins Friday

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 12th-ranked Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team will host the FAU Beach Bash in Paradise at the FAU Beach Volleyball Complex this Friday and Saturday. This is FAU's first home event since April 12, 2019, as the CCSA suspended competition a day prior to the Owls' first scheduled home event of 2020.
"The Sandy Owls are ready for our first home event this Spring!" FAU coach Capri Grotowski said. "It's been too long since we have been able to compete in Paradise. Hoping for lots of sunshine and a little bit of wind. Lots of great teams being here should bring lots of entertaining matches! Go Owls!"
The two-day event will see the Owls (4-4) compete against UAB at 9 a.m. and No. 14 Stetson at 3 p.m. on Friday, then No. 3 FSU at 1 p.m. and FGCU at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
This is one of two home events for FAU in 2021. From April 1-2, FAU will host the FAU Sandy Owls Invite, a tournament featuring Palm Beach Atlantic, Tampa and FGCU.
