2021 NFL Owls – Week 13

BOCA RATON, Fla. – FAUSports.com is proud to update our fans on the exploits of all of the former Owls who are lacing their cleats up each week in the NFL. Here's a rundown of how each performed during the 13th week of the 2021 NFL season (All gametimes listed below are Eastern):
Active Owls (7)
#51 Azeez Al-Shaair | LB | San Francisco 49ers
- Starting at MIKE linebacker for the first time Sunday, Al-Shaair set a new career best with 15 tackles, five more than his previous high. He had 11 solo stops and four assists, one TFL, a half-sack, one QB hit and a huge forced fumble on the goal line, playing all but two defensive snaps. Nine of his 15 tackles went for four yards or less, and his grade of 83.3 was second among all 49ers' defenders. Seattle edged out San Francisco, 30-23.
49ers' Record: 6-6 (Third in the NFC West, would be seventh in the NFC playoff seeding if the season ended today)

- Bryant and the Browns were on a bye

#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
- Make it eight straight game with a sack for Hendrickson, among his two QB hits and four tackles (one solo and three assists). He also had another sack wiped out on an accepted offensive holding penalty. The Bengals came all the way back from a 24-0 deficit with a chance to tie it on a two-point conversion, but would end up falling, 41-22, to the Chargers. In the latest Pro Bowl voting, he is second in the AFC (and third among all NFL) defensive lineman, and he's fifth in the NFL with 11.5 sacks, and with 57 quarterback pressures.
Bengals' Record: 7-5 (Second in the AFC North, would be sixth in the AFC playoff seeding if the season ended today)

#1 Greg Joseph | K | Minnesota Vikings
- Joseph was good on all three of his field goals Sunday – from 41, 31 and 31 yards, respectively – and put six of his seven kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks as well. He has now made 85.7 of his attempts on the year (24 of 28); those 24 makes is fifth best in the NFL. Detroit upset the Vikings, 29-27.
Vikings' Record: 5-7 (Second in the NFC North, is just a game out of the final No. 7 seed in the NFC playoff seeding if the season ended today)

#35 Sharrod Neasman | S | New York Jets
- Neasman played four snaps at safety, and 22 – or 92% – of the Jets' possible opportunities on special teams Sunday. Philadelphia took the win over the Jets, 33-18.
Jets' Record: 3-9
Next Game: vs. New Orleans – Sunday, 1 p.m. (CBS)
#42 James Pierre | CB | Pittsburgh Steelers
- Pierre played 14 special teams snaps and made a fourth quarter tackle on a kickoff as the Steelers edged out division rival Baltimore, 20-19.
Steelers' Record: 6-5-1 (Third in the AFC North, just a half-game behind the seventh seed, Buffalo, in the AFC playoff seeding if the season ended today)
Next Game: at Minnesota (and Joseph) – Tonight, Thursday Night Football, 8:20 p.m. (FOX/NFL Network)
#26 Devin Singletary | RB | Buffalo Bills
- On Monday night, Singletary rushed for 36 yards on 10 carries against a tough New England run defense. He had a long of 17, 30 yards came after contact, and he gained two first downs. The Patriots took the windy contest, 14-10.
Bills' Record: 7-5 (Second in the AFC East, would be seventh in the AFC playoff seeding if the season ended today)
