– Rateb Hussein has been named Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Swimmer of the Week. The junior from the FAU swimming & diving team hauled in his second weekly award of the season and the sixth of his career with the recognition.
Hussein won every event he raced in during FAU's 176-86 win over Keiser. He captured first place in the 200 fly (1:50.70) as well as the 100 fly (48.71). Hussein capped off his efficient day by swimming the opening leg on the 400 free relay squad that won with a time of 3:03.26. Hussein also began the meet by swimming the third leg on the 200 medley relay team that clocked in at 1:32.57 to capture first place.
So far this season, Hussein is the holder of the CCSA's top times in the 100 fly (48.60) and 200 fly (1:49.31).
Hussein and the Owls will return to the pool for a home scrimmage against Princeton on Oct. 22.
