Women's Golf Wins C-USA Sport Academic Award

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's golf has won the Conference USA Sport Academic Award, the league office announced Tuesday. Coach Aimee Neff's squad surpassed all other C-USA women's golf programs with a 3.878 team GPA over the 2019-20 season.
"I am thrilled for our team and their outstanding efforts in the classroom, community and on the course!" Neff said. "It is a gift to coach student-athletes who are motivated to do their best in each area of life. We are honored to receive the C-USA Sport Academic Award and we are proud to represent FAU with this achievement. We are also thankful to our academic support staff in assisting our team and providing access to all that the student-athletes need to be successful in the classroom."
The C-USA Sport Academic Award is FAU's second significant academic accomplishment this summer. On June 29, the Women's Golf Coaching Association named six FAU players as All-Academic Scholars: Amanda Leslie, Arielle Keating, Rosa Barnak, Taylor Morgan, Kim Egozi and Justine Fournand.
Women's golf posted the best GPA among all FAU athletic teams for a seventh straight semester this spring. Its 3.870 spring GPA is a program record. In 2018-19, FAU notched a top-25 GPA among all women's golf teams behind four WGCA All-American Scholars: Leslie, Morgan, Keating and Tai Barber.
The Owls are surging on the course as much as they are off it. Since Neff became coach, FAU leapt 75 spots in the national rankings and posted two of the top three team scoring averages in team history.
