BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic Athletics continued to achieve high Academic Progress Rate (APR) numbers in the 2024-25 academic year, as announced by the NCAA. It marks the third time in the last six years that the Owls have matched their department-record 990 overall APR.
Eleven teams achieved a perfect score of 1,000 for the 2024-25 year: baseball, softball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving, men's tennis, women's cross country, women's golf, women's track and volleyball.
"The impressive APR numbers are just another example of the commitment to our mission of providing a brighter future for FAU through student-athlete success," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Brian White. "We are proud to continue posting record numbers and grateful for the dedication of our academic staff, the emphasis that our coaches put on academics and the hard work of our student-athletes."
The Owls' 990 department score, falls in line with the Division I national average of 989 and the FBS average of 991, and matches the average across the American Conference. FAU previously set its record of 990 in 2020 and 2024.
APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or academic term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport. All teams must meet an academic threshold of 930 to qualify for the postseason and can face penalties for continued low academic performance.
