NEW YORK – The six-match road trip for Florida Atlantic University men's tennis came to a close Saturday, as the Owls were topped by No. 9 Columbia at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center in New York City.
Notables:
- The Lions gained the doubles point (though Maxime Lapraille and Filip Krolo were leading on No. 1 when that matchup ended), and clinched with wins in singles on Courts No. 1, 3 and 6
- The No. 2 matchup went to a third-set, 10-point tiebreaker, with Lapraille falling 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-3)
- Too, No. 4 went to three sets, and Alvaro Fernandez Horta was also edged out, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3
- Finally, Krolo battled in two tiebreakers, one to force a third, but was nipped as well: 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 1-0 (10-7)
