DELAND, Fla. -Â The 18th-ranked Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team extended its winning streak to six with a pair of victories on Saturday. The Sandy Owls defeated No. 7 Stetson 3-2 and St. Petersburg 5-0 to improve to 7-1 on the season. Stetson is the highest ranked opponent the Owls have defeated since March 4, 2018, when they beat No. 6 LSU.

Match 1 vs. No. 7 Stetson
Megan McGrath and Maylin Bouffard got the Owls on the board first with a 21-12, 21-18 victory, as No. 5 Sam Gott and Jillienne Cangelosi rallied from a first set defeat to win their match on court four and give FAU a 2-0 lead. A Stetson sweep on court two allowed them to cut its deficit in half. However, Kaila Dorish and Courtney Moon soon followed with a sweep at No. 3 to clinch the match for the Owls. Erica Brok and Mackenzie Morris suffered a straight set loss on court one. Jackie Farris and Lily Richman overcame a first set loss to earn the win on the exhibition court.

McGrath and Bouffard made quick work of their opposition on court five, winning 21-8, 21-7. Gott and Cangelosi soon followed with a 21-9, 21-8 sweep at No. 4. Pesante and Austin sealed the win, taking court two 21-11, 21-10. Morris and Brok got back to their winning ways at the top of the lineup, sweeping at No. 1. Dorish and Moon needed a third set, but won that one 17-15 to complete the FAU sweep.
