BOCA RATON, Fla. – Two Florida Atlantic University players,
Harrison Bryant and
James Pierre, both members of the 2017 and 2019 Conference USA Championship-winning football teams, are taking part in the 2020 NFL Combine, being held in Indianapolis through this upcoming Sunday.
Bryant, a 2019 unanimous All-American selection and John Mackey award recipient, participated in Wednesday's interviews, as one of 20 tight ends invited and one of 13 to participate in the bench press.
The Gray, Georgia native was then put through the paces Thursday, participating in each of the five stations, as well as pass catching drills. Bryant clocked a 4.73 in the 40. His vertical leap was 32.5, broad jump 110.0, cone 7.41 and his shuttle was clocked at 4.37. The tight end will continue his post-collegiate training with the goal of his name being called during the 2020 NFL Draft in Las Vegas April 23-25.




Pierre will begin his NFL combine with interviews on Saturday and is scheduled for on-field work Sunday. He will be one of nearly 60 defensive backs going through the paces. Pierre completed his junior season as an Owl with 44 tackles, 4.5 for a loss of 12 yards and was part of an FAU defense that led the country in turnover margin. He contributed three interceptions. The Deerfield, Florida native tallied 120 career tackles, three interceptions and 18 passes defended.
