CLEMSON, S.C. – For the second straight day, the decision came down to the wire, as on Sunday, Clemson eked by the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team, 4-3.
Notables:
- The homestanding Tigers (7-3) earned the doubles point, with wins at No. 3 and No. 2
- The Owls (5-8) quickly tied it at 1-1 on a singles victory by No. 2 Maxime Lapraille (6-2, 6-1)
- It became a two-point lead in favor of Clemson, but the Owls cut it to 3-2 when Gerard Escandell came through with a straight-set win at No. 5 (6-4, 6-2)
- Clemson clinched with a squeaker at No. 3, as Alvaro Fernandez Horta fell 6-7 (5-7), 4-6
- The final point went FAU's way on the No. 6 court, with Yovan Lambros victorious in three sets, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3
