Catalano Tallies Back-to-Back C-USA Diver of the Week Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Malvina Catalano of the Florida Atlantic University swimming & diving team has been named the Conference USA Diver of the Week, as announced by the league Wednesday. This is Catalano's second consecutive Conference Diver of the Week award, as well as third overall this season.

Catalano followed up the lifetime score she captured last weekend with another lifetime feat in the 3-meter, by tallying a score of 319.27. Her score helped her come away with first place by over 32 points. The Rome, Italy native also put up a second-place showing in the 1-meter, posting a score of 275.32.

As one of the top scorers on the boards on Friday, Catalano played a big role in the Owls beating Florida Gulf Coast in convincing fashion, 151-92. This marked the first time the Owls took down the Eagles in over 11 years.

Catalano and the men's and women's swimming & diving team will make the trek to Tallahassee to face Florida State on Saturday. The meet is set to commence at 11 a.m. at Morcom Aquatics Center.
