Player Perspective
Redshirt Junior Quarterback Chris Robison Does getting the first win make everything easier?
"I wouldn't say that. I would say it was a good win, but we have a new opponent this week, so we need to keep working to beat this opponent. Go 1-0 this week. It was good to win, and it was exciting but, we have got to keep working."
Was Saturday's game the game that you have felt the most confident for a full game?
"I would say so. I was in the pocket, really just chilling back there. I could make a sandwich or make a phone call and tell some 'hey I'm about to throw a pass right now.' That is how much time I had. I felt real comfortable back there and it is all thanks to my O-linemen and my running backs and tight ends."
Did you foresee that performance for yourself and the offensive line? Maybe not to the level it was, but just throughout the practice and improvements made?
"One hundred percent. Like I said, last week was a real good week of practice. We were proving to our team that we could do it, play really well. That is what we did on Saturday."
Senior Wide Receiver John Mitchell When was the last time you had three touchdowns in a game before last Saturday?
"I don't know if I have ever done that before. I can't remember honestly. I don't think I did that in high school so maybe backyard football."
On the leaping play that he made in the end zone:
"It looked like Harrison (Bryant) was open. I had already turned around and I had seen Harrison. I thought he was going to throw to him. The fact that Chris (Robison) even threw it to me, (I) was kind of shocked, but he is going to trust all of us and put the ball in the air. And then on top of that, I know there has be a big challenge for huge plays, big aggressive plays. I saw it and I went up and got it just like I have done before, and I feel like I should have been doing all season."
Chris Shepherd "For me, football was a vehicle, man. To get an education, to get out of the hood, and to transform my life – and ultimately to have a platform to help others."
