Catalano Receives CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Malvina Catalano was named to the 2019 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American Team, as announced by the CSCAA. She has captured Honorable Mention honors to become the second FAU swimmer or diver in two years to be recognized to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team.

Catalano earned her first Scholar All-America honors after receiving higher than a cumulative 3.50 GPA as a mathematics major, as well as qualifying for and competing at the 2019 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships. The redshirt junior completed 12 top-five finishes on the season and finished in the top 20 in the 3-meter at Zones.

CSCAA Scholar All-Americans qualified for this honor if they achieved a 3.50 GPA or higher, as well as attained a "B" time standard or became a Zone Diving qualifier. Catalano is among 890 student-athletes recognized as an Honorable Mention selection.

Past FAU swimmers and divers recognized with CSCAA Scholar All-America honors include: Abby Marshall (HM, 2017-18), Kiley Kuether (HM, 2014-15) and Eszter Bucz (2012-13).
