BOCA RATON, Fla. – For the second straight year, Florida Atlantic University closer
Zach Schneider has been honored by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) as an All-American, as he was voted by the membership on Wednesday as a Third Team member.

Schneider amassed 31 saves in two years as an Owl, tying Hugh Adams for the most in program history. His 16 this season led Conference USA and ranks fifth among all Division I pitchers. Out of the bullpen, he posted a 2.83 ERA in 28 games, and finished 26 games, also the most in the league. He struck out 47 batters in 47 2/3 relief innings, and 26 in 28 1/3 in league play, with his ERA against conference foes dropping even further, to 2.54.
There have been 19 All-Americans in FAU baseball history, but Schneider becomes the first ever to be honored in two separate seasons by any outlet. Among those 19, these seven have been bestowed the honor by the NCBWA:
