MILWAUKEE – The Philadelphia Phillies have promoted former Florida Atlantic outfielder Gabriel Rincones, Jr., to the major league level, the organization announced on Friday. Rincones will make his debut on Friday night in Milwaukee.
The Phillies selected Rincones in the third round of the 2022 MLB Draft after the native of Glenrothes, Scotland, led the Owls with 19 home runs and 69 RBI in his one season in Paradise. He earned a First Team All-CUSA nod as well as CUSA Newcomer of the Year. MLB.com ranked him as the Phillies' No. 6 prospect entering 2026.
QUOTABLE
Head Coach John McCormack
"Congratulations to Gabe on his call-up to the big leagues. We are so proud of him. He earned this with hard work and dedication."
Rincones will become the 15th former Owl to make his Major League debut when he bats seventh and starts in right field for the Phillies on Friday night against the Brewers, who are led by reigning NL Manager of the Year Pat Murphy, another former Owl (1981-82). Rincones joins Nolan Schanuel (Los Angeles Angels) and Pedro Pages (St. Louis Cardinals) as former Owls currently playing at the MLB level.
