BOCA RATON, Fla. – Following one of the most successful seasons of any Florida Atlantic University athlete,
Natalliah Whyte has earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Second Team All-American honors.
"It's been an incredible season of firsts for our program," said track and field head coach
Alex Smolka. "Although Natalliah had higher goals, we are extremely excited and would like to congratulate her on being a Second Team All-American. I truly believe that this year established a standard that will propel our program to new heights. I am thankful to everybody who was involved in helping us achieve the successes we had this season and I am excited for next year."
Whyte is the first FAU track and field All-American in the program's history. It is her second All-American honor, earning First Team accolades in 2018.
The junior became the first FAU runner to qualify for the NCAA Finals in program history after running a school-record time of 11.16 in the 100 meter dash during the NCAA East Regionals. Whyte won the 100 meter at the Conference USA Championship prior to that with a time of 11.17, setting a new facility record at Irwin Bell Track in Charlotte, North Carolina.
