BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team has earned the No. 1 seed at the upcoming 2019 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Men's Tennis Championship, to be held Friday through Sunday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The Owls (17-9) will face off against No. 8 seed UAB (8-11), in Match No. 1 this Friday, April 19, with a scheduled first serve time of 11 a.m. Eastern. Earlier this year in Boca Raton, the Owls topped the Blazers, 6-1. The winner moves on to the semifinal round to play either No. 4 Charlotte or No. 5 Rice. Here is the 2019 bracket in its entirety:
At last season's 2018 C-USA Championship, FAU made a tremendous run to the final match in Charlotte, falling just short against Old Dominion. The program is looking to take that next step this weekend to claim its first berth in the NCAA Tournament since 2002.
Middle Tennessee is the host school for the championship, to be held at the Adams Tennis Complex. Live stats will be made available for all seven matches over the course of the weekend. Fans can follow along at MT's
Tournament Central site, and with the Owls on Twitter at @
