HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Florida Atlantic University softball team (14-13) fell to Southern Miss (15-12) on Sunday, 2-0. FAU claimed the series after Saturday's two wins, but were unable to come up with the sweep after managing just two hits on the afternoon.

Key Plays:
In the bottom of the first inning, Southern Miss' Destini Brown reached on a throwing error and eventually made her way home following an RBI single by Lacey Sumerlin. The Golden Eagles capitalized on their lead in the bottom of the third inning following a sacrifice fly by Sarah Van Schaik to put Southern Miss up, 2-0.
Jolie Duffner had FAU's two hits on the afternoon, but the Owls were unable to capitalize with runs.

Notables:
- Mia Olson (4-8) came up with the loss, but pitched her fifth complete game of the season. Out of the two runs given up, just one of those were earned and she added three strikeouts on the afternoon
- Duffner had the Owls' two hits in the game. She is now batting .257 and captured her sixth multiple-hit game of the season
