BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University softball team (14-15, 2-3) had two tough outings against UAB (11-18, 2-6) on Saturday, dropping both contests against the Blazers. In game one, the Owls fell just short of the Blazers, 5-3, and were unable to recover in the second game, dropping that one in a 5-1 decision.

Game 1
Key Plays:
The Blazers inched three runs on the board in the top of the first inning following an RBI double by Dylinn Stancil, a sacrifice fly by Jenna Olszewski and an RBI single by Natalie Erwin. FAU answered with one run in the bottom of the inning thanks to
Samantha Lageyre's bunt to bring
Madisyn Palmer home from third.
Mia Olson hammered her seventh home run of the season in the bottom of the third inning to inch the Owls closer, but the Blazers responded with two runs of their own in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 5-2. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Olson delivered an RBI single to score
Ashleigh Jennings and make it a 5-3 ballgame, but the Owls were unable to come up with the rally needed to defeat the Blazers.

Notables:
- In game one, Olson pitched her fifth complete game of the season,
- Olson hammered her seventh home run of the year and 18th of her career. She is now tied for sixth in program history with Ninya Ybarra in career home runs
- Jennings had three hits on the day, a new career high for the freshman

Game 2
Key Plays:
The Blazers came out hot in the top of the first inning once again, thanks to doubles by Olszewski and Ashton Clem to command an early 3-0 lead. UAB tacked more runs in the top of the sixth off of Destini England's RBI double and Clem's sacrifice fly to extend the Blazers' lead, 5-0. The Owls searched for a late rally in the bottom of the seventh inning, but were only able to tack on one run off of Lageyre's sacrifice fly to score
Fayth Davis. FAU fell to the Blazers 5-1 in game two on Saturday night.

- Kelsey Morrison pitched 5.2 innings in game two for the Owls, giving up one earned run and three walks. She also struck out four Blazers on the evening. Kara Lokeinsky came into the game in relief in her 10th appearance in the circle, pitching 1.1 innings
- Madisyn Palmer stole a base in each of the two games, elevating her season total to 24 and career to 140
- Myah Murray delivered the first extra-base hit of her career, hammering a double to left field in the bottom of the second inning in game two
- Jolie Duffner is now on another hitting streak, which started in game three against Southern Miss last weekend. She delivered a hit in both games against the Blazers
