BOCA RATON, Fla. – For the second time this season,
Natalliah Whyte of the Florida Atlantic University track and field team has been named the Conference USA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Whyte continued her impressive start at FAU last weekend in Boston. On Friday at Harvard's Crimson Elite Invite, the junior set a new school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.33 in the preliminary round. That time beat out her own record set in the season opening event in Birmingham by 0.03 seconds and currently ranks as the top time C-USA so far this season.
At the Crimson Elite, Whyte was the top collegiate runner finishing in second behind Gabrielle Thomas who was representing New Balance. Whyte ran the finals in 7.35.
The St. Catherine, Jamaica native ran to a first place finish in the Bruce Lehan Scarlett and White Invite hosted by Boston University. She ran the prelims in 7.39 and the finals in 7.44.
The FAU track and field team will head into the postseason with the C-USA Indoor Track and Field Championship in Birmingham, Alabama on Feb. 16 and 17.
