MOBILE, Ala. – The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team fell on Sunday afternoon to South Alabama, 4-2, in the team's first of three matches in three days on the road.
Notables:
- FAU (8-6) won the doubles point, winning the No. 1 and No. 3 matchups
- No. 3 recorded the first point, with Kirac Bekisoglu and Thomas Guy winning 6-2
- The clinch came at No. 1, Jason Legall and Ignacio Garcia combining for a 6-3 win
- The team took a 2-1 lead when Mehdi Laalej posted a straight-set singles win at No. 4, 6-2, 6-2
- But USA (7-2), who had already won at No. 5, took the matchups at No. 3, No. 6 and No. 2, the last in three sets, for the victory
