BOCA RATON, Fla. - (Feb. 23, 2019) – The 8-5 and No. 45 Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team hits the road for their furthest road trip so far this spring, traveling to two states for three matches, beginning on Sunday morning.

A 3-0 weekend pushed the Owls to their highest national ranking in almost 20 years. The squad topped DePaul (4-1), Tennessee Tech (4-1) and Stetson (4-0), and freshman
Kirac Bekisoglu earned Conference USA Player of the Week for his undefeated showing over the course of the three home contests.

This upcoming trip begins with a stop in Mobile, Alabama for an 11 a.m. (Eastern) match Sunday against South Alabama (6-2), winners of six in a row. From there, the Owls move on to Athens, Georgia, to Head Coach
Ricardo Gonzalez's alma mater, facing the Georgia Bulldogs (2-3). That match begins at 2:30 p.m. Monday. The finale is Tuesday afternoon in Atlanta, against Georgia State (4-3), starting at 1:30 p.m.

Eleven days after the Georgia State matchup will be the first of six home matches in a row for FAU. On Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m., the team hosts George Washington, followed by tilts against VCU (March 10), UNC Asheville (March 11), UAB and UConn (March 16), and Brown (March 29). As always, admission to each match at the FAU Tennis Complex is complimentary.
