BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team has a split weekend, traveling to Rice on Friday, then returning to Boca Raton to host Marshall for a home match on Sunday. Sunday will be Senior Day and FAU will recognize its seven seniors prior to the match.
Last Week: The Owls were able to defeat UTSA for the first time ever, sweeping the Roadrunners on Friday night, but dropped a five-set heartbreaker to North Texas on Sunday. Despite Sunday's loss, FAU was able to clinch a spot in the upcoming Conference USA tournament.
History: Rice leads the all-time series with FAU 6-2, but FAU has won two of the last three meetings, including a five-set thriller last season in Boca Raton that snapped Rice's 15-match losing streak and was FAU's 14th in a row at home.
The series history with Marshall has a similar pattern, with the Thundering Herd holding a 4-3 lead, but with FAU winning three of the last four encounters. The Owls swept Marshall last season behind a double-double from
Massiel Matos.
Coverage: Live stats and video of both matches will be available at FAUSports.com. In-game updates will be available at Twitter.com/FAUVolleyball. Admission is free for Sunday's remaining home match.
Upcoming: The Owls travel to Middle Tennessee and Charlotte on Thursday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 17, respectively.
